The Alessi company can be summed up as a succession of three generations of entrepreneurs. Started in 1920 by Giovanni Alessi in Omegna who with his brother producing quality craftsmanship, for household and tableware metal. And 'after the war that switching from manufacturing industry, deep transformation took place thanks to the designer, Carlo Alessi who, with his brother Ettore, begins to experience the production of stainless steel. Much of the catalog of these 50s is dedicated to supplies for hotels and restaurants, only a small part is for domestic use.

Another important change takes place in 1970 with the joining the company of Alberto Alessi, is at this moment that becomes a "Factory of Italian Design" based on research and experimentation on the poetics of the project and the testing of new materials like plastic and wood. In these years Albert began working with famous international designers such Castioglioni, R. Sapper and E. Sottsass so that Alessi products are the result of a research poetic and expressive, always transmitting the idea of ​​craftsmanship.
